Component Interface Test Adapters Provide Fast Access to Tight Spaces
DiagnoSYS Systems Makes Contact Test Points Much More Available
Kissimmee FL (August 30, 2006) - Testing components just got easier with the Interface Test Adapters from
DiagnoSYS Systems. The adapters enable a range of solutions that provide test access to devices from thru-hole (PTH) underside to
fine pitch (FPT) surface mount (SMT) packages. They overcome the limited commercial options available to test departments when
selecting appropriate test adapters to solve the dilemma posed by restricted footprints and exotic components.
"We didn't initially intend to get in to the business of designing component test adapters, our specialty is diagnostics
and test solutions, but we relied heavily on Test Clips and adapters for our products to be the most effective. When commercially
available options could not meet our requirements, we had no choice," said Tim Webb, President DiagnoSYS Systems Inc.
"Our customers need precision test adapters that they can count on to work time and time again," he continued. "A
failing or intermittent adapter can reflect poorly on our overall test solution. Our design team was faced with the task of
developing our own adapters because product quality and life cycles widely varied with other manufacturers. Helping our customers
protect their investment in test adapters was a key goal. We addressed these challenges to provide our customers with a high
performance, robust design that is safe, easy to use and serviceable."
Interface Test Adapters are constructed from a special material and precision milled to deliver a hard-wearing finish for years
of services. Each Adapter uses spring-action, high-performance micro-probes ensuring solid electrical connections to the device
pins. High contact pressure ensures reliable and repeatable results, without damage to the DUT.
Adapter designs address a wide range of package styles and spacing, allowing access to the DUT and surrounding components
regardless of circuit complexity. Some of the adapters feature field-replaceable, spring-loaded micro-probes that can be easily
removed and replaced in the event of damage or wear from constant use. The current product range accommodates 0.1" to 0.5mm lead
pitch variations, with designs for smaller 0.4mm pitch under development. The lead count ranges from 6 to 240 pins.
DiagnoSYS Systems offer Interface Test Adapters to fit CSOP, PQFP, TQFP, QFP, QFP-VQ, SOIC, SSOP, TSSOP and QVSOP style packages.
Underside probes are available for DIL/DIP, ZIP, PGA and PLCC devices. Other package styles as well as custom adapters
are available upon request.
