Belmar Arts Council Offers
A Winter 'Journey' Of Art Enrichment
Belmar, NJ, January 12, 2009 - The Belmar Arts Council (BAC) encourages you to spend this winter productively! Join their new art course called Drawing & Beyond being offered at the Belmar Arts Council beginning this January.
This class will open up the process of drawing and painting studied by the masters of the European tradition. In the studio, students will explore classic techniques and methods fundamental to drawing and painting - creating form and depth through lights and darks, perspective and color. Each student receives individual guidance as they progress and diversify their skills.
The instructors are Sven Widen and Lizzi Schippert, NJWCS, a local husband & wife team of career professional artists. Sven & Lizzi have been teaching art privately in Monmouth and Ocean Counties for over 15 years and have exhibited their work widely in one-man or juried group shows locally and internationally for over three decades. Under the name Open Your Eyes, they have offered plein air painting workshops in this country, France and Japan. Currently they have a two-person show of recent paintings in Lambertville, NJ, until January 22nd.
This class is open both to active artists who want to refresh and broaden their skills in their media of choice, and to newcomers who have always wanted to try their hand at drawing and painting. Space is limited; enroll soon by contacting the Belmar Arts Council at 732-749-3360 Thursday through Saturday 1 to 5. For more class information, call Lizzi at 732-929-9732.
Class time is Thursday 3-5PM; Session I is scheduled for Jan. 22 through Feb. 19 and Session II is held from Feb. 26 through Mar.26.
