5th Juried Arts Show

Belmar, NJ, April 7, 2009 - The Fifth Annual Juried Exhibition sponsored by the Belmar Arts Council (BAC) is available for visitors to the gallery at the Boatworks, the BAC's headquarters at 608 River Road, Belmar. The show features works by dozens of local area artists and will continue until May 1, 2009.

The show which began on April 5, 2009 received over 280 submissions. Professor Marie Maber, Chair of the Visual Arts Department at Brookdale Community College, was the Juror, and she selected 87 pieces for the display. Professor Maber awarded a "Best in Show" and five "Honorable Mention" for the best in their respective mediums. Awards went to:

Dues, donations and grants fund the Belmar Arts Council's programs. BAC's events are made possible in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
