For immediate release: Belmar Arts Council Juried Art Show Receiving Entries this Friday and SaturdayBelmar NJ February 25, 2008 The Belmar Arts Council (BAC) will be receiving submissions to the Fourth Annual Juried Exhibition on Friday, February 29th from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday, March 1st from 9 AM to noon at The Boatworks, Belmar Art Council's headquarters located at 608 River Road. In addition to the physical pieces entered for judging, artists are also invited to enter digital images of their work for possible inclusion in the Belmar Arts Council's 2009 calendar. Artists interested in participating in the calendar selection must bring a high resolution photo of their pieces on CD along with their entry form. This year's juror is Doug Ferrari, Director of the Shore Institute of Contemporary Arts in Long Branch. The show is open to artists working in all media. The exhibition will be displayed March 8th through April 5th. The opening reception is on Saturday, March 8th from 3-5 PM. During the reception four awards will be presented to the winning artists. The prizes include Best in Show and three Honorable Mentions, as well as the calendar selections. Artists should note that all artwork must be original and not previously exhibited in a BAC show. Two pieces per artist may be entered with the maximum of one piece to be accepted for exhibition. The entry fee is $15 per piece for non-members or $10 per piece for BAC members. Sales of work are encouraged but not required. An entry form and complete details can be obtained online at www.BelmarArts.org. The programs of the Belmar Arts Council are funded by dues, donations and grants.
