Belmar Arts Council Juried Art Show Winners Announced
Belmar NJ March 25, 2008 -
The Fourth Annual Juried Exhibition sponsored by the Belmar Arts Council (BAC) is now underway in the gallery at the Boatworks, the BAC's headquarters at 608 River Road, Belmar. The show, featuring works by 91 area artists, will continue through April 5, 2008.

The art show, which began on March 8, received over 250 submissions. Juror Douglas Ferrari, Director of the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts in Long Branch, selected the 91 pieces on display. Mr. Ferrari awarded four prizes and chose thirteen pieces for inclusion in the BAC's 2009 calendar. Prize winners are Bobbie Crane for her Best in Show acrylic painting, "Who Will Know Me?", as well as honorable mentions for Catherine Dentino's C-print, "These Things Left Unsaid"; Marge Levine's pastel drawing, "Afternoon Shadows"; and Trudy Maran's photograph, "Beach Pauses". Artists who will be featured in the 2009 calendar include: Rose Leonard, Sven Widen, Merry Brennan, Pat Hutchinson, Lynne Mitchell, Lizzi Schippert, Catherine Dentino, Russell Meseroll, Leonia Mroczkowski, Gerro Gray,Trudy Maran, Michael Milchanowski and Donna Weiss.
The show will be open to the public on Friday, March 28 and April 4 from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday, March 29 and April 5 and Sunday March 30 from 2 to 6 pm. For directions to the Boatworks and further information about other upcoming events, please visit the BAC website at www.BelmarArts.org.
