Belmar Arts Council presents: Digitizing Your Art -- An Introduction

Belmar NJ October 27, 2007 - The regular membership meeting of the Belmar Arts Council on Thursday, November 1, will feature photographer and digital artist Sandy Cook. Mr. Cook will provide an "appetizer portion" of his upcoming workshop on Digitizing Your Art. The meeting will be held at the Boatworks, 608 River Road, Belmar, at 7:30 pm.

In this 45-minute presentation, Sandy Cook will show what you can do in black and white, and sepia, as well as color; explain the features of scenic vs. journal photography; and demonstrate how digital photography, either shot digitally or scanned from prints, can be manipulated and enhanced in Photoshop. He will show how to download files and save to CDs or memory sticks.

All visual artists are feeling the pressure to become more digitally literate, since many art shows are now require digital submission of entries. In addition, web sites with online portfolios are replacing slide and print portfolios for advertising purposes.

Don't miss this informative introduction, free to members and guests. For more information and directions to the BoatWorks please visit the BAC web site at www.belmararts.org.

This program is made possible in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
