Belmar Arts Council "Carving Artists" Pumpkin Carving Contest
Belmar, NJ, September 8, 2008 -The Belmar Arts Council (BAC) invites pumpkin carving artists of all ages to showcase their talents at the Boatworks in preparation for Halloween.
The BAC will be hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest on October 18, 2008 from 4-8 PM. Carving will be done at the Boatworks at 608 River Road, Belmar and will end at 7 PM so that voting can take place between 7-7:30 PM. Pumpkins will then be displayed and voters will select their three favorite pumpkins. Winners will be announced at 8 PM. Prizes will be awarded and the winning pumpkins will be photographed and posted on the BAC blog http://belmararts.blogspot.com . Bring your cameras! All pumpkins must be taken home after the event.
Online registration at www.belmararts.org is preferred but not mandatory. A mail in registration form will be available online as well. Registration before October 13, will be $10 and includes one pumpkin for carving and one ballot for voting. After October 13, $10 registration will not include a pumpkin and registrants will have to provide their own pumpkin. All registrants must bring their own carving tools. All pumpkin carving is done at your own risk. Extra voting ballots may be purchased for a $5 donation.
An adult must accompany children under the age of 16. Fall comfort foods and beverages will be available for a small donation as well.
