Belmar, NJ, July 28, 2009 - Thirsting for art and wine this summer? Look no further. Belmar Arts Council's Wine-Tasting Fundraiser, A Journey Through Wine Country, will take place on Saturday, August 22^nd from 6-9 pm on South Lake Drive, Belmar. Ocean Wines and Spirits' experts promise this tasting event will satisfy your craving for wine exploration. Local food legend Chris Brandl will prepare a delicious wine-tasting menu centered around the flavors of summer at the beach. A selection of cheeses to perfectly compliment the featured vintages will be provided by Sickles Market. And a chocolatier from Pierre Chocolat will be on hand to help demonstrate the pleasures of chocolate when paired with the grape.

The evening will also feature a Silent Art Auction of work by BAC artists and a 50/50 raffle, with music by Tim McCorry on keyboards. Tickets are $50. Proceeds from the BAC's Journey through Wine Country will benefit the Council's Community Mural Project and Arts Education programs. Belmar Arts Council is the area's link between the arts, culture, and community with exciting exhibitions and events, and a great creative environment.

The programs of the Belmar Arts Council are funded by dues, donations and grants. BAC's events are made possible in part by the Monmouth County Arts Council through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey Stats Council on the Arts/Department of State a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
