Software
Technical Description
The i-flex
GUI is written in Visual Basic and is provided as
source code to the developer. The developer can
use the interface as provided, customize it to
meet their requirements, or, the i-flex GUI
can serve as a "template" for
developing an application specific interface. The
mechanical system under control is displayed via
a graphical representation on the i-flex system
monitor. Access to individual parameter
adjustments is provided by clicking on the the
image of the mechanical sub-system. The click
opens a setup window which contains the
individual adjustment controls.
The proprietary i-flex
software components exist as OLE objects, either
OCX or ActiveX, and are linked to form the
application software. The OCX or ActiveX
components are also linked to the i-flex GUI
for user control. The OLE objects include single
and multi-axis controls, transport controls, and
PLC type modules for sensor input and system I/O
interfacing. Interaction between the components
is configured in Windows .ini files which are
generated from development software included with
the GUI source code.
The result is a complete motion control
software package that includes:
- Easy to use GUI
- Predefined motion control objects
- i-flex
development utility to link them together
